The Interview (29:05)

We interview Evan Prodromou of identi.ca (@evan) about open source (especially in conjunction with network services), free content, “microblogging” and how the creation of Laconica came about. During the course of the session we also cover some weirdnesses of the French language, Evan’s use of Linux and how he first installed it, his thoughts on the OpenMoko FreeRunner and much more.

  • The Franklin Street Statement on Freedom and Network Services
  • Wikitravel

Listener Feedback (81:14)

  • 5 Zune Dave thinks Apple is more evil than Microsoft and wants our opinion
  • Andrew Sullivan tells us about the Ontario Linux Fest and invites us along
  • Chess Griffin of Linux Reality congratulates us on our 50th episode
  • Simon Mikkelson tells us why he converts our Oggs into mp3s at his end (using BashPodder)
  • Snack Machine B says he has no problems with our files on his Cowon players
  • Dylan Coakley asks Fab if he ever tried Hoegaarden and appologises for giving us shit at LugRadio Live about our files not working on his phone
  • MalkorTheTechie send us some pretty funny bumpers for the show, which we play

Before we wrap it up, we also mention that Dell is now providing extended warranty for those broken NVIDIA chipsets.
